Oh, I forgot to motivate the whole idea behind these kinds of personality tests. They're usually used to explore relationships among people in groups, such as coworkers in an office, or family members.
For example, it's great fun to find out that you and your spouse are thoroughly incompatible.
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Enneagram. But I did read a few books that referenced Myers-Briggs typing. For example, Richard Nelson Bolles discusses how your personality type relates to your ideal career.
