Dream: Flying in the Living Room Lucid Dream

I'm in the living room of the house I grew up in.  I realize that I'm dreaming*.  So I decide to fly.  I lean forward and stretch my arms out in front of me Superman style, and I become airborne. I float and move slowly rather than fly.  I look at myself in the large mirror that occupies most of the wall in front of me.  Then I turn around to face the opposite direction and float out of the room.  I decide to head toward my parents' room.

* This is a dream in which I have a lucid dream.  The dream that I'm reporting here is not itself a lucid dream.

Wednesday Weigh-In 20140626

The idea that warmer weather suppresses appetite intrigues me. I've witnessed a proliferation of indoor air conditioning over my lifetime. Could it be that Americans' increase in obesity is partly due to a decrease in exposure to uncomfortably hot conditions? I ponder this while sitting under a breezy vent and wearing a heavy sweatshirt.

Wednesday Weigh-In 20140618

I feel like a switch was flipped inside myself. I suddenly have a normal appetite instead of one that urges me to eat a lot. Perhaps it was the increased heat, or my resuming the daily walks at lunch time, or going to bed a bit earlier, or the slight stomach bug I had last week. What a relief!

I'm trying to acclimate to the warm weather quickly by not cooling off when I feel warm. So I'm still wearing long sleeve shirts and long pants, and I still sleep under flannel sheets. My theory is that I can use heat to kick my body out of the mode of post-hibernation re-fueling and the over eating that goes along with it.

Can playing a computer game like Candy Crush result in weight gain? That might seem silly, but here's how it would work. The sight of the candies can lead to thoughts about tasting and consuming them. That can stimulate the release of insulin, which will lower blood sugar by moving glucose into fat cells. And the lower blood sugar can drive an individual to eat sugary foods.
