All I Really Want For Christmas

All I really want for Christmas is to finish the Home Office Project, which involves:
  • Decluttering.
  • Moving out the bookcases.
  • Painting the ceiling.
  • Painting the walls.
  • Rearranging the furniture for auspicious Feng Shui.
  • Getting a special Credenza / Hutch piece to help maintain organization.
The hardest part is the first item, and that's true of every one of my stalled projects. In this case, I had four copy paper boxes full of college notes, many of which had my Social Security number on them. I cleared that out finally, and the boxes and space that they occupied are now used for our daughter's school work and seven years' worth of income tax records.

We went shopping for this special Credenza / Hutch Piece that I have in mind. I haven't seen anything online, or in a showroom, or in a catalog of a showroom that looks promising. So I might have to find an apprentice carpenter to make one for me. Or I might get by with a set of kitchen cabinets and counter plus a homemade bookshelf hutch. I'm not gonna let that slow me down, though.

Hey we can fix up our spaces together :) I have taken this next week off to work on this project. Fixing up the little back room into an art studio space. The problem is it has become a big huge junk drawer! So, the first thing to do is bag up all of that crap and drive it over to good will. Then paint. The get shelves. The put the stuff on shelves. Then get a big long piece of ply wood...and some saw horses...paint them...and that will be my work area. Whew!!!! Good luck to the both of us :)

I'll be thinking of you while I toil. That will keep me from goofing off, I think. (Goofing off like I'm doing now.)

Good luck!

I have to be in the right mood to declutter - be it a closet or desk or files in the computer. But when that mood strikes - look out! I go for it and feel so fantastic once it is all done. Good luck in your efforts. And you are right - don't use the lack of hutch as an excuse to tackle the project.

Oh - and congrats on your weight loss in the past year! I've been keeping my eye on you though I don't always have the time to stop in and say hello ;0)
