My wife served this for dinner:

And it was delicious! In case you can't make out what it is, it's a Maitake mushroom, specifically "Hen of the Woods," or Grifola Frondosa.

...and funny you should mention your dogs feet, we used to carry a candle we called 'Puppy Toes', because it smelled just like Freetos Corn Chips, which is what most dogs feet smell like...trust me on this one...I've been a dog groomer for 35 years.
